Project Information:

D’Angelo Bros., Inc. performed the excavation, sheeting, underpinning and dewatering for the new 32 Story Residential Tower. The total depth of excavation was 35’ below grade and 45’ below grade at the elevator pit and shear walls. Underpinning was performed at the historic Franklin Inn Club at the southwest corner of the site and at the Camac Building at the northwest corner of the site. The Camac Building is one of the heaviest buildings that we have underpinned with wall loads estimated at 22,000# per linear foot of wall. Our crews excavated 17,000 cubic yards of soil, installed 15,000 SF of sheeting including 155 tiebacks and installed 280 cubic yards of underpinning. Access to the site was limited to only 12th Street as the other 3 surrounding streets were only 6’-7’ wide.
